Polar Quality Certifications
We are proud to say that we are certified quality. We don’t mess with sustainability.
Our fish is caught and harvested along the Norwegian coastline, above the Arctic Circle and beneath the northern lights, in pure seas full of nutritious raw materials. This is how we want it to be. Therefore, we take our responsibility to protect and conserve our resources seriously. We want our future generations to reap the benefits of these resources, as we do. That is why we are proud to say that we are certified.

The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC)
ASC is an independent, international non-profit organisation that operates a third-party certification and labelling programme for responsible aquaculture. To be certified and to sell ASC-labelled products, farms must meet the ASC standards. ASC certificate holders operate at the highest industry standards to ensure the preservation of the natural environment, biodiversity and water resources and provide good working conditions for their employees. The ASC logo assures buyers that the fish they purchase has been responsibly sourced, with minimal impacts on society and the environment, and is fully traceable back to a well-managed farm.
The ASC-label complements the MSC-label mentioned below. While the MSC is a certificate on sustainable wild caught fish, the ASC certificate ensures that farmed fish is responsibly farmed, with a minimum impact on the environment and society. Read more at https://www.asc-aqua.org/.
Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)
To be certified by The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), means that we are recognized and rewarded because of our fish is caught sustainable. The MSC operates a global seafood certification program where fisheries that captures fish wild caught, can become certified as sustainable to the MSC standards for sustainable fishing, and suppliers can receive chain of custody certification for seafood traceability standards. This means that each company in the supply chain handling or selling an MSC certified product, are traceable and must have a valid MSC Chain of Custody certificate. This assures all seafood-buyers that all seafood from Polar Quality that is MSC labelled, comes from a certified sustainable fishery. Read more at https://www.msc.org/
